Production Blog: Couldn’t meet up today.

Image
This is me at work rewatching the video made to see if we did it correctly.   Welcome back to Zoe's world! In the last blog, I explained how my group and I started editing. The group was supposed to meet up sometime this week but as the students were busy, that wasn't possible. Unfortunately, this means that no editing could be done today. In order for the editing to happen, the group needs to come into agreement on what feature of editing fits right with the music video made. From the last blog, the split screens were made throughout the video demonstrating the two perspectives of the setting. So I facetimed the group and asked what would be good for me to do. The first thing that was said was youtube videos. I immediately agreed because in the last project when I used tutorials and youtube videos I found on the internet I learned so much. In the commercial, I had basically not one little idea about editing. I made progress while watching editing videos. I find these

This was the location of where the group filmed. Hello guys, welcome back to Zoe’s world! In the last blog, I talked about how we filmed the group’s story and scenes. After completing that, I decided to meet up with my group and help the recorder (Jenna) with editing. I presented many ideas and so did my group. For example, I said that we could perhaps add some effects to the background of the scenes to make it more interesting. Mia brought a good idea which was adding filters to the videos to portray emotion. As my group and I watched the video scenes together, we agreed that it needed some editing. Split screen is used mostly throughout the story board made so, the two scenes were made into a split screen to create an effect of Mia being left out. After making the edit on the CapCut app the split screen was made and ready. Jenna and I reviewed the video again just to make sure it was correct. Amaya and Mia searched up many videos on editing tips and how to make a film good. The nex

Hi guys welcome back to Zoe’s world! The plan to film again succeeded as the group met up after school on Wednesday. My group and I completed filming at the beach. After a lot of practicing, we got the scenes down. The first scene was starting in the car with the Amaya and I there making Mia feel “left out”. Then another recording was made to show how Mia felt looking at us. There it was, scene one was done.  I made my way to the beach, I told my group some ideas of how it would be filmed exactly. I grabbed the props with Mia and made sure everything was there. The things were brought out the car and to the beach area. My group set up everything like the towels, the water bottle, and the beach bag on the sand. Amaya and Jenna made sure the music video storyboard was pulled up to guide us throughout the recording. I sat down with Mia and Amaya to discuss what part of the beach it would be happening and what would scene would be done. The recording started and my group and I did a good

Production Blog: Unexpected start to recording

This is my group member practicing her lines.     Hi guys welcome back to Zoe’s world! I have some surprising news to share. Well, it was decided to film on either Friday or Tuesday but things took a turn. Since my group and I were free and had no homework or work, I took the opportunity to get some filming in. After school, the group met up in the student parking lot and went to eat. While eating, everything was planned out on how it was going to go, giving the editor/recorder some tips and tricks before recording. The group came into an agreement that the beach scenes would be filmed another day due to the weather in Florida these past few days. It has been very cold because of the sudden cold fronts. This made sense to the group because none of us would get in the water and film with the cold water and environment. So, the indoor scenes would just be filmed today. When the group got home the filming began. I took out the props and organized the set of the first few scenes. At first,

Production blog: Running into some solvable issues

Hello guys, welcome back to Zoe’s world. It feels like I haven’t been here in forever! As I completed the commercial, I moved on to the music video project. I have an amazing group that did their part on the past blogs like the story board. Now that the story we created is set and was discussed about, it would make sense to start filming. It’s still quite early to start filming I’d say but the earlier the better. However, we ran into a slight problem. My group and I wanted to film this week to have more time to fix, revise, and edit the video. This plan didn’t make it out the group chat due to outside lives. For example, I had work and to celebrate my little sisters birthday this week. Mia and Jenna were busy with important events they had to be at. Amaya had work all weekend meaning she wouldn’t have been able to come film with us. The group came into an agreement that we would try and make this week Friday or next week Tuesday a day to film our music video project. Amaya says she ha

Planning for my music video

Song Title: Stitches by Shawn Mendes Props:  Since our location will be at the beach, we'll need the basic beach essentials. This includes gears such as towels, Backpacks, water bottles, glasses, phones, sunscreen and a floaty. These props will be used to give the usual feel of a trip to the beach with friends. All of these will be carried on hand or on our bodies as we navigate towards the location. Location:  Fort Lauderdale Beach is the desired location. If nothing goes wrong of course. If not Lauderdale By the Sea is our second beach beach my group and I will film at. (Hopefully nothing happens) Schedule:  Sunset, around 6 Pm. On weekends only since we have school and work schooldays. Going For the sunset will be a lot easier with no sun in our faces. The sunset sky is also a way better background since it's pretty. At this time it normally s tarts to rain as well which is what we prefer at some part in our music video. Backup Plan:  If it starts to storm while filming, my

My group for the Music Video

The three girls in this picture are the people working with me on the music video.         Hi guys, welcome back to Zoe's world! As you may know, the commercial is over and now is the start of a fresh project. This new project is called a music video. Given the choice to work alone or as a group, I chose a group. I chose three of my closest friends that fit in to the music video. The girl on the far left's name is Amaya. The girl in the back middle is name Jenna. The girl in the front middle is named Mia. I feel like if you choose the right people, you will get the work done correctly. Always make sure you pick people that are committed to doing the work and not procrastinate. I decided to work with these girls because we are all good at something that could contribute to this music video. For example, Mia has some experience with editing. Jenna likes filming so she has knowledge on it and will apply it to the video. Amaya is very good at coming up with ideas when the group i

Introduction to the Music Video

I enjoy any type of ice cream and this happened to be one of my favorite recently.       Hello, welcome to Zoe’s world! Today I’ll be sharing a few things about me. I have many interests in life like music, reading, cooking, baking, and the gym. I love music and how it can express    emotions and express people in many ways. When it comes to music, I’m open to any genre except country. I’ll admit that on some on my free days, I find time to look for new music to put on my playlists. Some artists that I enjoy are Tyler the Creator, Lauryn Hill, Westside Gunn, Pharrell Williams, Bryson Tiller, Kehlani, Summer Walker, Brandy, Karol G, Tupac and Drake. Moving on… I don’t read all the time but if I’m at the pool or don’t have a busy day, I grab one of the books I bought a while back and read for a bit. When it comes to cooking, I like doing it because my brother and I love to cook whenever he comes to visit from the UK, so it’s just our way of bonding. Baking is kind of different
