Reflection for Commercial

Hey guys, welcome back!!! Today will be all about my reflection on my recent project, the commercial. This will be like a deeper view or understanding of the process of this project. Thankfully, the commercial came out like I wanted so let’s talk about it.

Technology was required for this, obviously. I learned how to edit on Capcut. During the process of creating my commercial I had to figure out how to use the actual editing app. Before, I didn’t have any type of knowledge on editing. I would see my friends edit their projects for other classes and see teachers make editing for their lessons but I never really knew. I watched Youtube videos and asked friends who have experience with editing before doing this project. To be honest, I was sort of not ready for all this information and new stuff to use. However, I eventually found some tricks and am now a beginner in editing!

The process of this project was pretty simple. One thing though, do not procrastinate and make sure you are clear on what media you will use. Procrastinating will make this project ten times more difficult. So just don’t do it. In order to create the actual video commercial, videos and pictures need to be set from the start. What I mean by this is by choosing everything from the beginning. You don’t want to be searching for things in your camera roll and then changing them every second. Other than that, it was a very straight forward project to complete.

Though I thought I did good on this project, there could’ve been some improvements made. As a first time beginner in editing, I surprised myself. I could use a little more tutorials on the internet to make myself more skilled. One thing that needed improvement was the certainty of the pictures and videos I wanted in the commercial. For example, in my research and planning blog I had chosen some different videos and pictures compared to what I have on the commercial. I wasn’t very sure if it “fit in” into it. I’m a very indecisive person as you can see which made it difficult to stick to one picture or video. Every time I saw a picture on my camera roll I’d tell myself I’d use it for my project but then go to a next one.  I’ll definitely try to have my media set and not go through that again.

I’m very excited to improve my skills and continue to do these projects throughout the year. Bye guys, see you soon!
